This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you woll make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your GOd is with you wherever you go.They hit me so hard, because here I was worrying about what I am supposed to do in this life and now that I have graduated. The picture that I came accross was a perfect example of these two verses. Everything that we go through and encounter, read and meditate on and learn through the SCripture are the things that form us into who we are supposed to be for Him. Even though I do not know exactly where He wants me at this very point in my life, but I have been given His Word and the knowledge of it has been instilled in me. I have no reason to worry about not being ok.
Permanent Markings
Welcome to the "Permanent Markings"
I decided that I wanted to start a blog in where I can share some of my thoughts that I have throughout the day or week. While searching for a title for this blog I was looking up fonts and came across a font that is called "Permanent Marker." I then looked up the definition to what Permanent meant. According to dictionary.com it says, " Lasting or intended to last or remain unchanged indefinitely." The definition of markings is, "An identification mark." I choose this title because there are so many things that I encounter on a day to day basis that get me thinking or stick in my mind just like a "permanent marking" on a desk that we see in classrooms. These are the things that get me thinking. I hope that you enjoy just the small random things I come up with.

Change...
This is something that may be difficult for some and easy for others. I believe it depends on the case or type of change one is encountering. The change that I am going through right now involves a new chapter that is being opened in my life. I just recently graduated from college (no I have no idea what I am supposed to yet), but I am not worried that I wont find out sometime. For many of us this change is very different. That is the case for me. It only have been a little less then a month since I graduated it has been a crazy change. Applying for jobs that I didnt see myself working at with a college degree, going on tour for the last time with the evangels drama team, the realization that I will not get to see all my friends on a day-to-day basis and so many other things that have happened just in this short amount of time. Yes, honestly, this scares me, but I can do it. I was looking a pictures on the internet the other day and I come accross a picture that got me really thinking. Despite all the changes going on in my life right now and me not thinking that I can handle them I wa instantly reminded of something. Since I do not have a computer and I have to usemy Ipad I am unable to upload the picture that I am talking about. So...I will attempt to describe it to you, (key word being attempt). It is a picture of a forest with trees all around it and the wind gushing through the limbs. The wind is knocking down the leaves in the trees and forming at the base of all the trees a human person. The leaes are forming the features of a human. Right now your probably wondering why I am sharing this picture with you. Yeterday I was doing my devotion because I had realized that I was nto being the faithful person I needed to be in my studies of God. All these changes in my life have been takng me down slowly. But as I opened my Bible I couldnt think of a book that I wanted to read. So I sat there in silence asking God what He wanted me to learn and hear. This is a rare occasion for me, because normally I have a idea of where I want to read. I opened the BIble to the book of Joshua to chapter 1. I had the intentions to read alot of this book because I felt like thats what I needed. I was wrong! God had a different idea for me. I couldn't even get past chapter nine in the first chapter. I just could not stop thinking about verses 8 and 9 in this chapter. Joshua 1:8-9 (ESV) states,

Love so Amazing
If you would have asked me a year ago whether I was happy with life I would have most likely said something along the lines of "It's ok or I'm making it." I just couldnt seem to find the happiness that I once had. I was having a difficult time adjusting to the new life that was set before me. This is something that my entire family has had to deal with. I knew throughout the entire past two years that I had people that loved me and cared for me and I knew that God had me placed in my position for a reason. I did not understand it whatsoever. I wouldnt have wanted to put anyone through losing a loved one, but is something that happens and we all go through it sometime in our lives. During the these past two years I have learned so much that I never expected to happen, but the most important thing that overwhelms me fully is "His Love." Love is often something we look past in our lives and we all have different definitions to this word. The love that has been shown to me throughout my life has come in so many forms that I cannot even begin to share every moment. But the one that I have recently realized is the fact that he loves me in everything that I do and despite the fact that He puts me in situations in where I do not understand at that moment doesn't mean He doesn't love me. The definition of love according to dictionary.com is, "an intense feeling of deep affection." the love that the Lord Jesus displays to us in this world exceeds more than we could ever show. My life has been nothing but filled with this love from Him whether I have seen it or not. I am thankful for the ones that He has placed in my life and the family members that I have who are the biggest blessing to my life. Without His love i am nothing. I have been reminded this entire Christmas break of two songs that Share this message of love and my thankfulness for it.
This first song is by Christ Tomlin called "Jesus Messiah" The words of this song show me how much He has and continues to do in our lives everyday.
He became sin
Who knew no sin
That we might become His Righteousness
He humbled himself and carried the cross
Love so amazing
Love so amazing
Chorus:
Jesus Messiah
Name above all names
Blessed Redeemer
Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners
The ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah
Lord of all
His body the bread
His blood the wine
Broken and poured out all for love
The whole earth trembled
And the veil was torn
Love so amazing
Love so amazing, yeah
Chorus:
Jesus Messiah
Name above all names
Blessed Redeemer

Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners
The ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah
Lord of all
All our hope is in You
All our hope is in You
All the glory to You, God
The light of the world
Chorus:
Jesus Messiah
Name above all names
Blessed Redeemer
Emmanuel
The rescue for sinners
The ransom from Heaven
Jesus Messiah
Lord of all
The second song is by Brandon Heath called "Love Never Fails"
Love is not proud
Love does not boast
Love after all
Matters the most
Love does not run
Love does not hide
Love does not keep
Locked inside
Love is the river that flows through
Love never fails you
Love will sustain
Love will provide
Love will not cease
At the end of time
Love will protect
Love always hopes
Love still believes
When you don’t
Love is the arms that are holding you
Love never fails you
When my heart won’t make a sound
When I can’t turn back around
When the sky is falling down
Nothing is greater than this
Greater than this
Love is right here
Love is alive
Love is the way
The truth the life
Love is the river than flows through
Love is the arms that are holding you
Love is the place you will fly to
Love never fails you
I hope that we all continue to find and realize this Love that we are so graciously given and offered.

Birth of a Best Friend
September 17, 1960 was the day my best friend arrived to this earth. Nina Marie (Hall) French is her name. This woman has meant the world to me. Losing her has been one of the hardest things in this world that I had to deal with. Not only did I lose a mother, I lost a best friend, a provider, a caregiver and piece of my heart. But because of the unfailing love that God shows me day to day I am able to continue stronger than i was before. Mom you taught me so many things in this life. You have taught me to follow my passions full on without turning back. You have shown me a heart that is bigger then anyone's that I have seen. Every need of every person on this earth was put before your own. I hope that I can obtain somewhat of an ounce of your heart. Your were a mother not only to Patrick and I, but a mother to everyone in our family. You have taken care of every single one of us and I thank you. I just wanted to say Happy Birthday Mom! I miss you and Love you. Cant wait to see you again.

Dear Mom, I said a prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
For blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.
I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
For the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.
And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
And I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be

The Testimony
Last night during campus church we were challenged multiple times to be bold and share our testimonies with the ones around us.I used to be very shy to share my testimony because I felt as if my testimony wasn't "good" or "flashy' enough. I felt as if it was pointless to even state it, Since i have been attending FWBBC I have realized that no matter what my testimony is i can minister to someone. The use of a testimony can be a tool to fulfill what 1 Kings 8:60 says,
"That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else"One's testimony can and should let someone know who Christ is by stating what He has done on our lives. Often we learn the most about God from experiences in our lives. I believe a testimony is an account of those experiences. Therefore someone can learn from you "experiences" through your testimony.

Unfailing Love
"Though he brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love" Lamentations 3:32This is verse that means the world to me, thus placing it in my heart and mind as my life verse for my life at this point. Through the past 5 or 6 years I have went through many storms that have taught me many of things. The biggest that I want to mention is the passing of my Best Friend, rock, life and mother.
January 23, 2010 was one of the hardest moments of my life. I received a call that hands down became the quietest phone conversation that I have ever had from my younger brother. This phone call consisted of one sentence that changed my life forever. "Shes gone"....... At this point I didn't know what to say or do but fall to my knees. As the news spread across campus I received many texts from people who encouraged me that day. But there is one text that I received from a friend that I will never forget. That text consisted of this verse that I have mentioned. This verse has reminded me time after time of how much the Lord loves me no matter what. His Love is unfailing. It never ceases. It also remind me of how someone here on earth can love me so much to send me a text with this reminder.
